Parent Involvement in Class Activities
School and family work together. Parents enter the classrooms and use their expertise and love to illuminate children's learning paths, bringing a new vitality to the primary school classrooms.
Specifically, in order to build a strong bridge between home and school, broaden students' knowledge horizons, and enrich the diversity of classroom instruction, on the afternoon of May 15, the Primary School Department successfully held a series of 'Parents in the Classrooms' events under the theme 'Home-School Collaboration: Co-Creating an Innovative Classroom.', during which parents from various professions—including police officers, firefighters, university professors, bakers, engineers, and doctors—brought their professional expertise and heartfelt enthusiasm into the classrooms. They delivered lively, engaging, and uniquely designed lessons that infused new vitality into the learning experience.
Moreover, in class, parents and teachers each showcased their talents, using vivid language to explain professional knowledge, sparking enthusiasm for learning through fun interactions, and guiding children in hands-on activities to unlock new skills. Accordingly, the kids watched with wide-eyed curiosity, asked eager questions, and actively participated, with applause and laughter filled the classrooms!
Additionally, after class, many students exclaimed, 'I never knew my parents' jobs were so interesting and I learned so many fascinating things!' On the other hand, parents who participated in the lessons also shared their thoughts, 'Getting up close to my child's learning experience has helped me understand how to communicate better. Thus, home-school collaboration is truly meaningful!'
To conclude, this event broke down the barrier between home and school, making high-quality resources from parents become vivid teaching materials and building a solid bridge for communication and mutual assistance. In the future, the Primary School Department will continue to explore new forms of home-school collaboration to ensure the growth of children.
